5. No mendier <*( this Church sliall li.; subject to disci]iline,
or censure, but tor immoral con<luct, or for an open and e.vjilicit
renunciation of the great and fundamental dtx'trines of revealed
religion.
G. The discipline of this Church, for private offenses, sliall
be thftt prescribed by Jesiis (,'lirist in the 18th chapter of Mat-
thew, in the 15th, IGth and 17th verses; and for otfenses l)e-
fore the Cduirch, the, oll'ender must be answerable to the ('hurch,
with whom such offenses must be si'tt k'd.
1. The Klder of the I'hurch shall be Moderator and C-lerk,
and shall have a casting vote, .should the votes of members at
any time be equally divided ; and all the affairs uf the Church
shall be determine<l by a major part of the votes of the mem-
bers ytresent.
8. lio alteration or amendment in this Constitution shall
take jilaee, unless by the voti/s of two-thirds of the laendjers,

ADDITIONAL RULES.
Adopted June, 1855.
I. Persons who are not members of other Christian Churches,
may become niendiers of this Church, after an examinati(jn by
the Pastor and Deacons, and upon giving satisfacUny evidence
of Christian character. They are to be ])ropounded to the
Church for three weeks, and to iht; congregation not less than
one week, before tlieir admission: which is to be by their
s^:ilcmn and (except in extiaordinaiy ca^cs) public, assent to the
confession of faith and I'uVenant tif this Cliurch. The ques-
tion shall alwa\"S be put to the vote of the biethren, whether
they shall be propounded to the congregation, and thereafier,
