II.  Persons  wluj  are  members  of  other  Christian  Churches,       ^
if    they    bring   a    dismissal    and     r(.'Conimendation    from     the       i
Churches   to    which   llicv    beldiig,    or   satisfactory  evideuce    of
membership  and  good  standing  in  thuse  Churches,  unless  some-      1^
thing  is  shown  to  invalidate  their  testimonials,  may  be  admit-       \  \
ted  to  membership  in  this  Church,  having  n-ad  and  assented  to       fe|
the  confession   and   covenant,  by  a  vote  of   tfie   brethren.     In       F.*
such  cases  the  Church  is  to  be  notitied  of  their  letter  of  rcc^om-         I
mendation,  at  least  four  weeks  before  their  recejjtion.  |
III.  Tliis  Clnn-ch  hold  it  to  be  a  solemn  and  important  duty  N
to  attend  watchfully  to  the  discij>line  which  Christ  has  insti-  H
tuted  in  his  Church.
IV.  In  cases  of  j)ublic  and  notorious  offenses  against  the
laws  of  religion  and  morality,  the  Church,  as  a  body,  may  pro-
ceed to  call  the  offender  to  an  account  at  once,  by  a  committee
appointed  for  that  ]>ur]>ose.
V.  Members  of  otlicr  Christian  Churches,  who  are  occa-
sionally j^resent  in  our  assemblies  for  woi-ship,  are  to  be  affec-
tionately invited  to  commune  "with  us  in  Christian  ordinances.
VI.  ^lembers  of  other  Christian  Churches,  who  join  with  us
statedly  in  pidilic  worship  and  Christian  ordinances,  are  ex-
pected to  become  iri'inbers  ot'  this  Church  by  jiresenting  letters
of  dismission  and  recoinmendat ion  from  the  Churches  to  which
they  belong,  within  one  yi!ar.
VII.  Members  of  this  < 'hurcli,  who  leave  this  place  to  resido
in  other  places,  or  who  leave  our  Sanctuary  to  worship  sta-
tedly in  any  other  Sanctuary,  are  reijuired  to  take  letters  of  dis-
nussion  and  recomnieudati'iu  from  us  to  some  other  Church
within  one  year,  unless  g.joil  and  sutru-ieut  reasons  are  given
for  deferring  it ;  and  those  who  have  neglected  con:ipliance  with
this  rule  for  m<jre  than  twu  years,  after  due  noticti  i''i\i.'U  to
them,  shall  be  regarded  as  no  lo)iL;er  members  of  this   Church.
