PAST MEMBERS. 41 " AVhereas, we are credibly informed that Amos Smith, and Maria, his wife, Edward Coe, and Louisa A., his wife, Leicester Carrington, and Emily, his wife, Miuot A. Bnt- ricks, and Charlotte A., his wife, Joseph II. Smith, and Plannah, his wife, William C. Scobie, and Amelia, his wife, John "Wilkinson, and Elizabeth, his wiiv, Andrew li, Moffat; Marsxaret, Catharine, Mary and Sarah jMof- fat; Gilbert F. Moore, Jennette Eddy, Catharine C. Jones, Caroline W. Bm-well, Eobert Dyas, and Seth Gil- lette, whose names stand on our books as members of this Church, have united with other churches, without asking letters of dismission from us, as was required l)y one of our Standing Rules, to which they were parties, "Resolved, That notwithstanding the irregularity of their course in this particular, we accept it as at least an expression of their desire to be released from their conuec- tion with this Church, and that accordingly our Clerk be directed to enter their names on our Records as dismissed memhers from this date, (November 22, 1864,) in the same sense as if they had asked and received from us letters of dismission and recommendation, in the usual form."
