Art.  6.  We  V)olieve  that  our  first  parents,  by
voluntary  disobedience,  tell  from  their  oriirinal  })uri-
ty  of  cliaracter  into  a  state  of  sin  and  condemna-
tion, in  consequence  of  which  all  men  become  the
subjects  of  entire  moral  depravity,  and  ihr  their
sins  deserve  the  wrath  of  God  forever.
Art.  T.  We  believe  that  all  true  Christians  arc
the  elect  of  God,  wh(;m  he  hath,  from  the  beirin-
nil^L^  chosen  to  salvation  through  sanctitication  of
the  Spirit  and  belief  of  the  truth,  and  that,  though
ti'ee  to  fill,  they  will  all  be  kept  by  the  power  of
God  through  faith  unto  salvati(;n.
Art.  8.  We  believe  that  all  men,  in  order  to  be
saved,  must  be  born  again;  that  the  new  birth  is  a
moral  change,  in  which,  througli  the  influence  ot
the  Holy  Spirit  o]»cratinLr  with  tlie  word  of  truth,
the  transgressor  freely  turns  from  sin  to  holiness,
with  fixe<l  pur[)ose  to  love  and  serve  God  forever.
Art.  9.  We  V)elieve  that  it  is  tlie  duty  of  Chris-
tians to  associate  themselves  for  the  woi'ship  and
ordinances  of  the  Gospel,  and  the  extension  of
Christ's  king«b)nu  and  tliat  any  association  of  be-
lievers tor  thr<e  purposes  is  a  Christian  Church.
